We want to reassure visitors that we are working in partnership with North Yorkshire Police and the National Counter Terrorism Security Office to deliver a safe and enjoyable show.
We have carried out a full review of our security arrangements and contingency plans which have been approved by North Yorkshire Police – and we will continue to do so.
There will be a visible police presence and we are implementing additional security measures both before and during the Great Yorkshire Show.
One of the additional measures may be that anyone entering the Showground will have their bag searched prior to entering. This is just one component of the security measures in place.
Due to the security measures, there will not be a bag storage facility in the members’ pavilion. Members are asked to only bring bags that they intend to carry around the Show with them. Bags should not be left unattended anywhere.
We recommend visitors check our web site and social media pages before you travel and you plan to arrive at the Showground as early as you can to minimise possible delays in gaining access. Thank you for your patience and understanding and above all be safe and enjoy your visit.
The Great Yorkshire Show is pleased to be working in partnership with North Yorkshire Police to ensure a safe and secure show.
Together, we utilise a range of security measures on-site, some of which are more visible than others.
You can also play a vital role by being vigilant and report anything suspicious.
Don’t leave it to someone else to report it.
