School Visits to the Great Yorkshire Show

The Great Yorkshire Show provides a fun and exciting opportunity for children to learn more about farming, food and the countryside.

Education is a key element of the Show and will extend your student’s learning outside the classroom with free cross-curricular activities and curriculum learning linked to careers (Gatsby Benchmark 4).

Bookings for 2026 have now closed.

Free shuttle buses are operated by The Harrogate Bus Company every day of the Great Yorkshire Show. The buses run every 10 minutes from Harrogate Bus Station (next to the Railway Station) to the Showground’s White Gate, starting at 7.20am. The last bus departs the Showground at 7pm.

Primary Schools

The Discovery Zone is packed with a wide variety of FREE workshops and demonstrations exploring food, farming, the environment and the great outdoors. Provide by trusted partners, selected for their high-quality delivery and educational content.

Secondary Schools & Colleges

The Great Yorkshire Show provides a wealth of opportunities for Key Stage 3 – Key Stage 5 students to learn more about potential career paths, engage with prospective employers and industry specialists.

Subsidised School Pupil Tickets

As part of its charitable remit and to ensure schools can access this great learning experience, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society offers school pupil tickets at a subsidised rate.

We aim to make the visit as enjoyable and stress free as possible for teachers, providing free teacher tickets according to the teacher/pupil ratio and free carer tickets for children with additional needs.

Important Information

  • Please note visitor numbers will be capped each day, tickets are only available to purchase in advance and will not be available to purchase on the gate. Tickets may sell out for specific days in advance of the show.
  • School Group bookings will close at 12 noon on Friday 26 June 2026 (or sooner if tickets have sold out); this includes adding pupils to existing bookings. If you need to purchase an additional ticket after this date please do so online as a standard visitor (subject to availability).
  • School Groups must arrive and enter the show as a group, individuals arriving at the gate with a school wristband will not be granted entry.
  • The minimum number required to book as a school group is 5 pupils, if you have less than 5 pupils please book tickets online as a standard visitor.
  • School wristbands (which are your entry tickets for both adults and pupils) will not be sent until payment has been received.

  • If you have more than 10 additional adults/parents/guardians who would like to attend they can book tickets through the website as a standard visitor.
