Great British Pole Climbing Championships take place from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 July 2026. The first 10 completed entry forms received will each qualify for a £100 PER DAY ATTENDANCE ALLOWANCE, provided the competitor climbs three times on each of the three days of the Show (please note that the competition does not run on Tuesday 14 July 2026 and comprises of three practice sessions).
The total prize fund for 2026 stands at £1,100, including a top prize of £200, with other prizes for experts and novices on all three days of the Show – full details are given in the Reference Rules (as part of the entry form).
Best Young Farmer Award 2026

A brand new award for 2026, the Best Young Farmer Award celebrates members of Young Farmers in Yorkshire who go the extra mile to serve the community.
Open to Intermediate and Senior members (aged 17-28) of Young Farmers Clubs in Yorkshire, the award has been introduced by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society in collaboration with the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, with the support of Baroness Anne McIntosh of Pickering.
Three finalists will be invited to the Show where an overall winner will be announced on Friday 17 July and will receive a £250 prize.
GYS Innovation Awards 2026

The GYS Innovation Awards continue to celebrate the ideas, technologies, and forward-thinking businesses shaping the future of agriculture.
Each year, we proudly recognise outstanding innovations across farming, machinery, agri-tech, and rural sectors. Open to all, we welcome applications from trade stands attending the show as well as businesses beyond it.

- On-Farm Early Adopter of the Year
- UK Agri-Tech Start Up Award
The overall winner of all categories will also be considered for the Champion White Rose Innovation Trophy, shining a light on entrepreneurs redefining the future of farming.
John Boddy Award 2026

The John Boddy Award celebrates and rewards excellence in forestry design and practice in Yorkshire. It is organised and judged by the Royal Forestry Society, Forestry Commission and Yorkshire Agricultural Society, and presented during a reception at the Great Yorkshire Show.
This prestigious prize will be awarded to the BEST EXAMPLE OF WOODLAND MANAGEMENT in Yorkshire. The winner will receive the John Boddy trophy and a £400 cash prize provided by Yorkshire Agricultural Society and Royal Forestry Society.
